In the Bible, Joseph went through seasons of difficulty. He was rejected by his family, sold into slavery, lied about, mistreated, abandoned, falsely accused, and thrown in jail. But through it all, Joseph never gave up. He kept pressing through and doing the right thing even though the wrong thing kept happening.
The Bible says Joseph laid in prison in chains of iron. As Joseph just kept on fighting through life, his soul became as strong as that steel which kept his body bound. God developed a supernatural strength in him that no one could take away and that only God could give! (Gen. 39-40)
When I think about life, and challenges we all face, sometimes I start to think: How will I do this? How can I get through this alone? What if I am not strong enough? No matter how hard I try, life is constantly throwing me curve balls. No fancy organizer or planning app can predict the enemy’s attacks or God’s purposeful directions. I often feel myself taking one step forward and two steps back (sometimes 3 or 4!) in finding this mysterious “balance” in life. It’s overwhelming. It’s exhausting. It’s defeating.
The answer to all these questions is the same…JESUS.
I can’t get through any of these things on my own and I will never be strong enough on my own. Life is a God-sized task! I am a child of the God who strengthens with a God-sized strength that no one can take away. He pours His grace out on me each and every day! What overwhelming strength is found when we can begin to rest in that identity.
Whatever it is you are going through today, God wants to increase your strength. He wants to increase your power to overcome. He wants to make your inner self as strong as steel. When you keep standing, keep believing, keep doing the right thing, you are opening yourself to God’s supernatural strength. That’s when you know you are growing in Him.
When we [tweetthis]Keep standing, keep believing, keep doing the right thing![/tweetthis], we are opening ourselves to God’s supernatural strength.
Be strong today. Keep pressing forward because God is at work increasing strength in YOU so that you can live in victory in every area of your life!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, today I surrender every difficulty to You. I release the questions, hurts, and frustrations. I choose to trust You and do the right thing. Increase Your strength in me, so that I can live in the victory You have in store for me and so that I may glorify You in every aspect of my life. Let me be a reflection of Your strength and glory to others around me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
