I am so honored to introduce you to one of the most God-seeking women I have ever known. On the side she also happens to be one of my very dearest friends. God set our paths to cross in a few years ago and my life has forever been changed for the better. Amanda and her husband have an impactful ministry to couples and Amanda has recently started her journey public speaking to women. If you have a women’s event coming up I can not recommend her enough! I could go on and on about how much I love her, but instead I will turn the “mic” over to her. Take it from here my friend . . .
It’s time to answer the question, “How do you do it?”
You might ask, how do you do what? The breakdown goes like this. I am a wife and a mother of six wonderful blessings. Yes, I said six. On any given day, really every. Single. Day. As I enter Target with my kids, I am asked, “How do you do it?” As I enter the drugstore, “Ma’am can I ask you a question, How do you do it?” As I’m leaving church, ” I don’t see how in the world you do it!” I’m going to take a wild guess and assume everyone is speaking of me being a mother.
Let’s take a moment to clear the air and lay out some facts. Five days out of seven, dirty dishes are piled in the kitchen sink. Landry, oh laundry, I loath you! It is everywhere! I’m tired and under paid. I don’t know how I do it some days.
The truth is I choose to enjoy the gift of life. The truth is I find so much Joy in my children. The truth is I realize how much I’m blessed.
The truth is I am a sinner saved by Grace. I fail every single day. I can’t do anything by myself or on my own. My strength and joy come from Jesus. The truth is I don’t measure the success of my day in the things that do and don’t get done. The truth is I don’t find value in measuring or comparing myself to other moms. This is where I rest as a mom and a Christ follower; I rest in The Most High King, not just today but everyday I try to rest in Him.
I pray that in this journey I live a life of no regrets and a life that glorifies Him. Enjoy the road of motherhood. We are tired ,but we are so blessed!
Without Him I am Nothing
