Today I would like to introduce you to a sweet soul I have recently met through the COMPEL online community through Proverbs 31 Ministries I am part of. Catherine Gabrielsen lives in Norway and is a leader in an online Bible ministry there. First of all, I just love how God is connecting me with so many women across the globe this year! Catherine is my first Norwegian friend…..and I just think it is really cool that she has a website in a different language than me. I know that is probably childish of me but I think it’s cool and I want her to send me a postcard!
Her new book is called Be Inspired by Mark and boy was I inspired! Joining Catherine on this journey through the book of Mark was truly transforming for my prayer life. I have read many prayer books, but this was exactly what I needed to draw me closer to Christ and helping me create my own “war room”. Her prayers are inspirational yet urge me to obedience and trust in God. I loved the space to write my own prayer and the questions at the end that got me thinking deeper. What a great idea! I have fallen in love with this way of reading through the scripture tying it into my prayer life. I can’t wait for the next book!!! Check out our interview below and be sure to link up with her and grab a copy of the book!
Tell us what your book is about?
The book is a journal. It has space where you can record your thoughts and prayers. It also includes my prayers – one prayer for each chapter in Mark. It also has space where you can write something to be thankful for, and questions from the Bible text.
What inspired you to write this book?
Well, it started out as a personal project when I had a lacking prayer life. I think I was led by God to write out my prayers. At first, it was just random prayers. But then I had the thought to write from a Bible text. After that I just took it one day at a time, writing one prayer for each chapter. It really was a step by step process, and I had no idea if it would amount to anything at the time. I trusted God to give me the words, and He did.
What do you hope your readers will walk away with after reading?
I hope the book will encourage people to write down their prayers, and to see what a blessing that can be. I also hope the questions will take them deeper into the text. I pray those who go through it, will be blessed by it.
Are there plans for another book?
I would definitely like to publish more books. With three more gospels in the Bible, there is a possibility of praying through them as well. I would say, it all depends what God places on my heart.
What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
I like to dance, sing and play the piano. I love to be creative. Right now my creative outlet is when I make Bible pictures and other pictures for my blog.
Chocolate or vanilla?
Chocolate. Definitely chocolate.
